Every year, the Colorado-Texas Tomato War takes place at Twin Lakes, Colorado, where thousands of participants throw 300,000 pounds of tomatoes at each other. Despite attracting crowds of people during the 1980s, this tomato fight ended in the early 1990s due to liability and insurance worries, only to be revived in 2011 and become more popular than ever!

Whether you are an adrenaline junkie or simply want to get active, the culture in Colorado is centred around outdoor recreational activities, from skiing, snowboarding and rafting, to hiking, biking, and boating.
